CBU vs. Seton Hall

It has been quite a while since we last blogged but it has been a wild ride since than as basketball season is in full swing. We just wrapped up the non-conference part of our schedule and seems as though all we have been doing is traveling. We travel around the country and every now and then we stop off to play a basketball game. It has been memorable season so far if not for our 10-1 start or our brief stint as the number 0ne team in the country in NAIA but for the places we have gone and teams we have played. On December 9, we played Seton Hall University in Newark, NJ. Seton Hall is a NCAA Division I school from the Big East Conference and plays in a beautiful arena in downtown Newark that it also shares with the New Jersey Devils, a professional hockey team. Seton Hall plays against school such as Louisville, Georgetown and Syracuse in their conference. It was a wonderful experience for our players as we played much better than we had earlier against UCLA. We definitely had realized that we were capable of competing with them. The score went back and forth the entire game with us leading several times even into the second half. We had a chance to win but made some errors with under 3 minutes to go that turned a 3 point lead into our final defecit of 92-80. We were very proud of the team and really enjoyed the next day as we toured New York City. We had a blast even though it was cold and raining. We took a tour of the city on the top of a double decker tour bus and enjoyed Rockafeller Center. The highlight for most of the guys was Time Square, Madison Square Garden and the NBA Store on Fifth Ave. All but myself and one of our players had never been to New York City and it had been since high school that I had been there. New York City is a wonderful place at Christmas time!

What a great trip! I'm envious - I've always wanted to go to NYC at Christmas. Thanks for the Christmas Card! Those boys just keep doubling in size!
